Best time to book international flights – any patterns you’ve noticed?
Hey guys, I’m looking at flights for a trip later this year (probably autumn) and prices are all over the place. Sometimes I see the same route jump $150–200 in a single day. Do you follow any rules like “book X weeks/months in advance” or use specific tools/sites that seem to show better deals more often? Especially for long-haul flights to Europe or Asia. Would appreciate real experiences, not just general advice. Thanks!

From what I’ve seen over the last couple of years, there’s no magic “exactly 8 weeks” rule anymore – it really depends on the route, season and airline. For Europe from Eastern Europe area I usually get the best prices somewhere between 2.5–4 months out, but I always compare several days in a row because prices can drop suddenly mid-week.
One thing that consistently helped me find tickets cheaper than on Google Flights or Skyscanner is this site: I recently used https://en.tripmydream.com/flights to check Warsaw–Lisbon . Another small tip – try searching in incognito + clear cookies, sometimes prices are lower. Anyway, flexibility with dates still wins most of the time.
